I love the heart of pastor Dino Rizzo, and his passion for the local church. I have known Dino for a lot of years now, and he has never changed. He’s a living example of a servant who lives to make other people’s lives better.
We were invited by Dino to participate in this blog tour, and this was my question for him….
Q: Within the context of cycles and seasons: How do you maintain the momentum of Servolution so that it doesn’t become another passing fad?
A: Robert - you’re such a great example of faithful serving - you’re more qualified to answer this question than just about anyone. Your church and the ministry you lead there in Peru is one of the most amazing I’ve ever seen.
I think what is key in this question is that just as worship, the Word of God, and prayer are not fads. In the same way, compassion and generosity are not passing trends, but instead, they are part of our culture as the Church. The body of Christ bleeds sacrifice, generosity, giving, and serving.
About eight months into being a church, we were having tons of visitors - so many that our person working to follow up with visitors couldn’t keep up with all of them alone. So one Wednesday evening when everyone showed up for church, we decided to go out and visit people who had visited the church. We did that for the whole month - just going out and visiting and serving people instead of having our mid-week bible study church services. It spoke a strong message to our people that the culture of the Church is one of serving others.
Keeping this truth in front of the people is crucial. We make a constant effort to deliberately reinforce these values - to make sure that the culture of serving is deeply embedded into every part of what we do.
I love his answer! Over the years, there have been so many passing fad’s and movements, some have been good, some ended in embarrassment. But there are some things that must never change, worship, a life of generosity, and serving. A gospel so simple, and true.
For us, servolution is more than event, it really is a lifestyle, but the event was such a blessing. It activated hundreds of believers who realized this truth; it is more blessed to give than receive.

Muchas bendiciones para ustedes :),a veces estoy chequeando su blog porque es de mucha bendicion. Recuerdo que fui con un grupo de amigos a un concierto que hicieron, eso fue en un segundo piso en San Borja o Surco si no me equivoco, eso si la fecha no la recuerdo, solo recuerdo que fue de mucha bendicion para mi :).
Veo que Dios los esta bendiciendo mucho y tambien que estan haciendo mucho opor Lima.

Thank you for sharing and encouraging all who have read the latest blog. I am from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA and am celebrating the One Prayer effort over the next month. I Thank God for his abundant mercy he has shown us with the example of his Son Jesus. And through his body, the church, we will grow strong and be encouraged to serve Jesus with our whole heart. The attitude of service in the church is primary. We must keep our eyes focused on Jesus for his leading and enabling in these times ahead.

Pastor Robert, soy un joven profesional gay (homosexual), que trabaja muy duro y se dedica a su familia, queria saber si la iglesia de la cual Usted es pastor recibe personas gays (homoexuales) como yo, soy catolico de nacimiento, pero la iglesia catolica no comparte mi condicion de homosexual y me sienteo muy discriminado por eso en la iglesia catolica. He escuchado mucho de Camino de Vida por dieferentes personas es por eso qeu me permiti hacerle esta pregunta

Robert, hola, tanto tiempo sin verlo, la verdad extraño mucho la iglesia, a la pastora karyn en especial, Uds son parte de mi formacion espiritual, gracias, decidi hacer lo que dijo en la graduacion del seminario “preparense para salir de la iglesia al mundo y prediquen las buenas nuevas”, no es facil, estaba comoda en la iglesia, trabaje en diferentes ministerios, pero no niego que por tiempos calente el asiento, Uds son padres espirituales, si, muchas veces me queje por que no tuve a mi padre espiritual a mi lado, lo siento, era por que Ud estaba bendiciendo a otras personas, lo entendi cuando sali de la casa, mi tiempo por camino de Vida fue hermoso, lo disfrute y aun siento el aroma del impulso que me daban para seguir adelante, los llevo en mi corazon, los ire a visitar, un bacio papa e mama!!

Instead of wheel chairs GOD, we cry that these people WALK AGAIN!!!! You said that GREATER things we will do in your name!!!
