Robert and Karyn Barriger are the senior pastors of Camino de Vida, one of the most innovative churches in Latin America and a church that lives to make Jesus famous. Camino de Vida acts as a bridge for reform, encouraging churches all over South America to extend their influence into the community through social responsibility, and through bringing key biblical principles to the forefront of daily life.

Robert and Karyn met in Bible College in 1975, and were married in August of 1976. “She was the best looking girl there, and when I realized her passion for missions, that was it. ”The couple moved to Peru with their two young children in 1983, and in 1988, with just a dozen people, started Camino de Vida Church. Today the church hasover 8,000 members, two orphanages, a rehabilitation home for young girls off of the streets of Lima and an extensive outreach network in Peru through their non-profit ministry Alcance. They are strong believers in the irreplaceable value of the local church. As the church comes together, works with humility and has passion to serve others, God’s glory can really begin to be seen on the earth.

Pastor Robert is also president of CDV Network and UNICEP, (The National Union of Peruvian Evangelical Churches), and is well known in Peru as a respected leader inthe national church. Robert works closely with key government leaders and serves on Peru’s commission against poverty to help Peru’s poor and forgotten people. Pastor Karyn oversees the Worship and Arts ministry and the Women’s Ministry Ellas. Her creative insight has given the face of the church in Latin America a new look and a fresh glimpse into the heart of God. Karyn’s recentfight with cancer is inspiring believers all over the world to believe God like never before and to rest in his love and in his bold grace.

Robert and Karyn’s dream is to leave a legacy in Peru, positioning the church to be a blessing for generations to come. This year Camino de Vida will celebrate her 20thanniversary. Robert and Karyn are so thankful to have a church full of suchlovely people and to have their children and their spouses, Taylor & Chana and Pedro & Jenna, working together with them in the ministry. Robert and Karyn spend their free time with their two beautiful grand-babies, Sebastian and Alessandro.
